Kid Approved Gardening

Spring has finally sprung! And there is no better way to connect than getting elbow deep in some good clean dirt. Here are gardening inspirations for involving little hands in outdoor projects.

Kid Approved Gardening Projects

Building a fairy garden combines crafting with planting and creates the potential for hours of future fun. Whether a mini-fairy garden for a small space or a full fairy village tucked away in a sprawling backyard, a fairy garden inspires imagination and creative play.

Create a bean fort or tepee. Using light bamboo sticks and gardeners twine, kids can help build the structure, seed and plant the beans and train them to grow up the teepee. It will provide welcome shade all summer long.

Planting herbs is another great green activity that works well regardless of space. Whether it’s an indoor kitchen garden or sprawling pots on a patio, herbs are an easy and accessible option.

Create a bee-friendly yard or patio. Kids will love creating a bee hotel or bee bath, and a few additions can make even the smallest space helpful for these important pollinators.
