How to say “thanks” to all the great dads out there? We’ve got some great ideas….
Father’s Day in Surrey, Delta & White Rock
The dad who likes to hit the links is spoilt for choice. From South Surrey to North Delta, these communities are jam packed with world class courses. The recently renovated Tsawwassen Springs boasts 18 holes with views of the North Shore mountains. And the family friendly Sunshine Woods Golf Centre in North Delta has something for all abilities.
Or treat Dad to a Golf Surrey Pass. This annual pass will score him access to Surrey’s premier courses – Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club, Morgan Creek Golf Course, Northview Golf & Country Club and Peace Portal Golf Club.
To start the day, hit the Wooden Spoon Brunch & Bistro in White Rock for their famous Breakfast Poutine and Spoon Ceaser.
For a classic fish & chips in a perfect setting, head down to Crescent Beach and Hooked Fish Bar. Enjoy the patio or take it down to the beach and savour the views.
The Dancing Pig in Ladner will fill a BBQ lovers heart with joy, serving house smoked classics with all the fixings’ and local craft beer on tap. This amazingly kid friendly eatery even has chalkboard table cloths!
Unplug and reconnect in urban wilderness. Wander the trails in the peaty oasis of Burns Bog. Discover the canopy in Redwood Park or drop a line for rainbow trout in the well-stocked Green Timbers Lake.
For the family that loves to try something new, how about a day spent picking up a new skill? Coastal Climbing Centre offers drop in climbing for ages 5 and up.
Head down to White Rock’s East Beach and rent paddle boards, skimboards or kayaks for a family paddle in the warm, shallow and sheltered waters of the bay. Check out Feral Boardsports for a wide selection of equipment at reasonable prices.
However you celebrate this special day for the dads in your life, slow down and enjoy a day of togetherness and time.
