Family time is awesome… but what about “Me-Time, Us-Time and Girls’-Time”? We’ve put together three ways to decompress while the littles are being loved hard by your partner, their grandparents or a favourite babysitter.

Date with Yourself
Sometimes, the thing a mom needs the most is just to be… left alone. Imagine several hours of glorious silence, self-care and down time. And sunny Tsawwassen is ideal for a mom’s day-of-zen. Start with a class at Yoga Union. This peaceful space is the perfect place to challenger yourself with hot yoga, or try a beginner class for the first time yogi. And private showers are available for a post-work out clean up.
Then head over to Sublime Art Materials and pick up a beautiful new journal, or some fresh coloured pencils and an adult colouring book. If reading is your thing, pop into Albany Books and get a new book. Both of these lovely shops can be found in the centrally located Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall. Then get cozy at the Wood N Frog for an hour or reading, drawing or writing. Try the soothing Golden Latte, also known as tumeric tea, full of anti-inflammatory properties. Or their housemade chai tea latte, with hand blended spices.
Don’t think you’re done yet! More pampering is required, so wrap up the day with some spa time. Both Spa Time and Atlantis Day Spa offer a full menu of services. Indulge in a massage, pedicure or facial to finish the ultimate day of “me-time” in total bliss.
Date with Your Other Half
Known for a romantic beach setting, White Rock is a classic date night destination. But there is also a vibrant arts & culture scene, some great “off-strip” restaurants and wine bars.
Start with dinner at ONYX Steakhouse & Seafood. Tripadvisor ranks it as one of the top ten steakhouses in BC. Private booths, a warm wood interior, classic leather touches and a great bar make it a perfect date night destination. The steaks are Black Angus Reserve, and a wide variety of fresh seafood is served nightly, including classics like oysters on the half shell. Vintage cocktails and a BC focused wine list wrap up the experience.
It’s time for some entertainment, so head over to White Rock Players Club. They’ve been entertaining in White Rock since 1944, and boast a full schedule every year, including an annual Christmas pantomime. Or if live music is more your speed, check out Blue Frog Studios and their regular concert schedule. This unique venue is a world class recording studio, with an audience of 100 for live recordings. Be sure to get tickets in advance, it regularly sells out!
Wrap up the night at Bin 101, an intimate wine and tapas bar in the heart of White Rock. With live piano on Saturday and Sunday, and an extensive cocktail and wine list, a nightcap here is the perfect ending to a parents’ night out. 
Date with the Girls
Get the ladies together for a full afternoon and evening of fun. Try something new together – for the adventurous, check out Project Climbing Cloverdale, the newest climbing facility in Greater Vancouver. With over 8000 square feet of climbing choices, there is something for everyone, including an auto-belay wall which is awesome for kids and beginners.
Or if you have a creative streak, head over to Create-it-Emporium to take part in a workshop, or just drop in to PYOP (paint your own pottery).
Then hit nearby Vinoscenti Vineyards and check out their tasting room. Or if you’re looking for an awe-inspiring experience, try their “Scenic Wine Flight”, an aerial tour courtesy of King George Aviation.
Wrap up the day with dinner & drinks. Head back into the main street in Cloverdale for some great choices like Vault Restaurant, Hawthorne Beer Market or The Henry.
