Discovering Westham Island

Westham Island is a hidden gem, nestled between two tributaries of the South Arm of the Fraser River. Accessed by a single lane wooden bridge, these charming farm lands are only 30 minutes from Vancouver, yet it feels like a country destination many miles away from the city.

Brews and Bogs

North Delta is full of green space, good eats and home to an award winning craft brewery. Spend a leisurely Sunday exploring the bog, sampling the beer and getting outside in some gorgeous urban wilderness.

Go Play Outside!

For a full day of outdoor family time, head to Surrey. Full of beautiful urban green spaces and some excellent activities and programming, it’s an ideal destination for a mini-wilderness retreat.

Hangin’ at the Beach

East Beach is a Kid Approved fav. Even on the busiest summer days, ample patches of sand can be snagged, and the wide tidal flats are safe, calm and warm for little swimmers. In cooler months, the shallow pools are great for rubber boot wading and beach combing.

Get Your Farm On

Westham Island is a pastoral farming community only minutes from Ladner Village. When driving across the single land wooden bridge, you will feel transported miles from the city. With a world class bird sanctuary and many multigenerational family farms, there is no better place to connect with farming culture.

Biking the Boundary Bay Trail

The Boundary Bay Trail is 20km, extending from Centennial Beach in Tsawwassen to Mud Bay in South Surrey. Wide, flat hard packed gravel paths and no traffic make this a great biking destination with kids. For novice riders, start at Boundary Bay Park for easy access to a 4km loop.

Cycling in South Surrey

Discover Crescent Beach on bikes! Not far from the main beach and restaurants is picturesque Blackie Spit park, jutting out into Boundary Bay. Biking is a great way to explore the area with wide, packed gravel trails and quiet side streets.
